Volunteer
We are seeking volunteers to assist in our daily operations and special events. We welcome people of all ages with a minimum age requirement of 16 and recruit all volunteers through District of West Vancouver Volunteer Services. Every new volunteer will receive training through Parks & Community Services and will then receive on-site training at the West Vancouver Art Museum.
Roles
The West Vancouver Art Museum has the following volunteer roles:
Gallery Attendant
Gallery Attendants sit at the front desk and fulfill a variety of tasks, including recording visitor numbers, answering basic questions about the art museum and selling items from our shop. We ask that each volunteer commit to at least one weekly shift. Ongoing shifts are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. This position is for ages 19 years and older.
Education Programs Assistant
If you enjoy helping children with craft and art projects, this volunteer position is for you! Education Program Assistants help with delivering our many fun and creative educational programs at the art museum and at schools. Our programs are in session seasonally. This is not a permanent commitment, but rather a casual position as needed throughout the year. This position is for high school students ages 15 to 18.
Special Events volunteer
Special Events volunteers help with exhibition openings and special programs, including our annual West Coast Modern Home Tour. Many people attend these events and we need several volunteers to ensure success. This is not a weekly commitment, but rather on a casual basis as needed throughout the year.
