Takao Tanabe

Takao Tanabe is one of Canada's most respected artists with a career spanning over six decades. In the 1950s through the early 1970s, Tanabe's painting focused on the non-objective before his work evolved into expansive realist depictions of prairie, plateau and coastal land and seascapes. This exhibition profiles a series of new watercolour paintings of the Rocky Mountains in winter alongside a selection of earlier works from the artist's own collection.
